Kairos Tallow Co. is made by hand by Riekie Thomas on our regenerative cattle farm in the Free State — simple, honest skincare with nothing to hide.
From the founder
Kairos Tallow Co. didn’t begin as a skincare business.
It began on our regenerative farm outside Kroonstad, where we were learning to work with nature rather than against it. As we focused on raising healthy grass-fed cattle and producing food for our own family, we became increasingly interested in where our food came from and how it was produced. When we processed one of our own cattle for our family’s freezer, we were left with a large amount of beautiful grass-fed fat. Throwing it away didn’t feel right.
Because we were already farming regeneratively, it felt right to take what nature gives and turn it into something clean and useful. Beef tallow turned out to be exactly that — pure, nutrient-rich, and full of benefits for skin.
What started as rendering fat in the Apothecary has grown into a full range of handcrafted skincare. For us, it’s about seizing the right moment — Kairos — to make something of value, and to share products that honour both nature and the people who use them.

On Palmietkuil Farm outside Kroonstad, our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, raised using regenerative grazing practices that improve soil health and work in harmony with nature.
We believe that healthy skincare begins long before a product reaches your hands. It starts with healthy soil, thriving pastures, and animals raised the way nature intended
Kairos Tallow Co. was born from this philosophy. By sourcing tallow from our own regeneratively raised cattle, we create simple, nourishing skincare products rooted in quality, sustainability, and respect for the land.
From healthy land comes healthy animals. From healthy animals comes nutrient-rich tallow. And from that tallow, we craft skincare inspired by nature.
